Google Analytics - A free tool to monitor your site

Google Analytics used to find search from different browsers. To measure the traffic into the site, we can use Google Analytics. Using a Google Analytic tool,we can track 100 websites. Google Analytic helps to know how many people visited your site,location of visitors,referral sources to the website.

For installing Google Analytic, first we need to  create a Google Analytic account. Google Analytic account is created using Google account(Email address).

Search for Google Analytic and then click sign in button on Google Analytic. Then w window appear with three steps to complete. For tracking website,select website and then fill up account name,website name,URL,Industry category and Reporting time zone.

Then there is an option for Data sharing settings. Click on the Get Tracking Id button and then get ab pop up with terms and conditions. Click on thee Agree button and then We get a Google Analytic code. 

Copy the code and then paste it on the HTML code of the page before </head>.

In Google analytics, we can find the overview of the traffic to the website. This also helps to know how many sessions are there on your website in a given time period.  Google analytics shows all traffic from different browsers to your site.

Webmaster Tool (Google Search Console)



The Google webmaster tool is a free service provided by Google to all website admins to identify the issues associated with the site.It helps users to monitor the working of the site,crawling of the page and identify other issues.

 Google communicate with website admins about the problem with the webpage through Webmaster tool .Webmaster is a free tool provided by Google and It helps to understand what is going  on with your site.

For using webmaster tool, we must join first. Once joined,the next step is the verification process. From the verification process google understand that you are the owner of the site.

Verification is the process of confirming that you are the owner of the site. Once verified we have access to its private Google Search data.

To verify ownership, Google provide 5 methods:

1. Download an HTML file and upload it on the site.

2. Add an HTML tag to the head of the home paage.

3. Google analytics.

4.Domain name provider.

SEO Onpage Optimization Guidelines

Ranking of a page depend on how we optimize the page. Onpage optimization plays an important role in page ranking.

URL stands for Uniform Resource Locator.URL is the network identification for the content in world wide web. URL are used to visit webpages,images or videos. All search results will display the URL of the resource.

SEO title helps users and search engines to understand what your page is about. The major factor in search engine result is the title of the page. Title should describe the content of the page using limited words and the title of the page should be attractive.
We should include focusing keyword on the title. If the page doesn't have a title then google provide the h1 content as a identity. Title tags are used in search engine results, webbrowser and social networks.

Limitations of SEO Title: SEO title should be within the range of 55 to 60 characters. The pixel width should be 512 width.If the title width is more than 60 characters  then google search results cut the title by adding ellipsis and avoid important words from the title. Thi smay results in incomplete title.
Avoid all capital letter titles: The pixel width for capital letter is high. when we write title using capital letters then the pixel width will exceed and it is also difficult fr the users to understand. Long titles will reduce search engine ranking. Avoid spelling mistake and grammatical errors.SEO title should be unique and impressive

Avoid too short titles: Use three or more words for the title because clarity of title decreases with short titles.

Click through rate:The percentage of impression which result in  a click. When a page list in search page result,it will create an impression. If the CTR rate is low,then the ranking of the website will be less.

Bounce Rate: Bounce rate calculate the time spent on the page by the users. If the time spent on the page is high then bounce rate will be low. For a page,the bounce rate and traffic ranking should be low.

Meta Description

Meta description summarizes the content of the page. Meta description included in the head section of the page. It helps users to know what a page is about before clicking the page.

It should include focusing keyword atleast one time. Meat description should be impressive and unique. If a page doesn't have meta description then google list apt sentence from the body part of the page. For a page,the character limit for meta description should be within 155 to 160 character limit.

For a blog or article post,the meta description should be within 155 character limit because the publishing date of the blog is included with blog post.The pixel width for a meta description is 1024 pixel. Meat description of the page may be the contents of the page but make sure that  the content should be unique.

Body part

The important part of a page that the users reads and interact with is body part. Focusing keyword should be included within the content. Body part include the page content with text links and images.

Header Tag h1: It high light the important areas in the page and is used only ne per page to define the main title of the page and displayed on the top of the page.

Anchor Text:The text in which the hyper link  is added.

Keyword Density: The percentage of  the occurrence of focusing keyword. Adding focusing  keyword on the top portion o the content will improve the ranking. Optimize a page considering user. Using bold letters on the content also helps to improve the ranking because users readability increases. Try to add focusing keyword  in front of comma or full stop,it will improve page ranking. Avoid long sentences from the pge.

An image will helps users to understand the content on the page. The process of increasing the visibility of image on the published page.
